We finished 2016 and started 2017 with a flurry (no snow though)! Carlisle Fencing & Dozer Services installed high fence around the vineyard. Most high fences are to keep deer in, but ours is to keep them out and from eating our vines and grapes. Between removing the tress & brush along the old fence lines and pushing the mesquite piles back, it’s amazing how much nicer the property looks now. Nicole & Kris gave us some large pipes to use for the entrance to the winery. Once finished, they will help make our entrance a focal piece!
Thankfully we were able to enjoy some time over the Christmas holidays with our children and grandchildren. It was way too short but we loved every minute of it. Ben, Amber & the girls have been up a few times, but for Conrad & Gina, it was their first visit since we bought the place. It was so nice walking the property and sharing our stories with all of them. Did I say it was way too short???
Cousin’s Painting & Remodel did the framing quickly for us. It was perfect timing because my nephew Kevin, a master electrician at Texas Tech, came down and roughed in all of the electrical for the building. He worked both Moira & me hard (he even got Kris to work some)! This was my first time to see him work and I was so impressed with his knowledge and attention to detail. He is truly a master of his trade!
We rang in the new year, celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary and got ready for Jason to install our HVAC over the first weekend of January. Jason is a good friend of Ben’s and has been taking care of our A/C for a number of years. You can see his Marine training with his thoroughness. Another long weekend but we got most of it done and had some fun along the way.
Brian, I love the Blog and have read every post. I guess making you write posts here at your old work gave you some good practice. I LOVE the hair! You look like you are really enjoying life. I am going to grab Christine and we will have to come down once you open, then we will write about you on our blog. Take care and see you soon.
Thanks so much Vickey, can’t wait to see you!!!
